Emelly Velasco

EMELLY VELASCO is a Mexican-Dutch with Central American roots painter, writer, designer and visual artist, among her eleven years of career, we find her passion for symbols, healing, and energy comprehension; combining art, pre hispanic cultures, religious subjects and intellect in the divine feminine’s eyes.

Since 2009 she began her activities in the design being recognised in Mexico and in Center America as Brand Manager & Speaker.

In 2024 she to work in her abstract and surrealist work with a spiritual focus, taking advantage of the diverse chromatic use basing her discourse on the principle of polarity, which she knows quite well in mind and own soul.

With RED ASTRAL Emelly Velasco established in September 2024 an artistic movement, MAMA-Movement whose acronym is Metaphysical Abstract Menstrual Art where she suggests a deep connection with the inner being calling to the feminine experience, the expression and manipulation of the traditional medium, obeying the emotion by applying menstrual blood in a very selective collection process and letting the menstrual blood take its own movement with little or no guidance through the canvas covering, highlighting or the organic medium being the message itself.

Professor and project leader: advanced illustration, contemporary art, art history, sign, symbol and corporate identity, semiotics, at various universities in the Mexican Republic.
