The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism.
The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations.
However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces.
Paint like a child, paint with more expression than technique, paint with feeling over technique. The painter seeks the skillful strokes of his inner child to carry out each of his pieces.
Enrique Pichardo (Mexico City, 1973) graduated from Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado (ENPEG) “La Esmeralda”.
In 2001, his first exhibiton took place in Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros in Mexico City. His works has been exhibited in different galleries in Mexico such as Estudio Actual, Arthouse, Bernardini Gallery and Galería Dominguez y Buis. In 2018, Pichardo is invited to his first international exhibition during Art Basel Miami in Limited Edition Gallery.
