Ethan Dsouza

My name is Ethan Dsouza. I have done my BFA from New Jersey City University. I majored in Digital Illustration & design, along with drawing and painting, as well as minored in Religion and Philosophy. I also am a writer and poet.

Art, philosophy, writing, and poetry sort of blend in together for me when I think about it. To convey an idea through art is the same as conveying an ideology through words, the end goal or purpose stays the same. When one chooses to be an Artist or Writer, basically when one gets into this field for whatever barbaric reason he or she becomes all these things I said and a much more without even realizing, which I find beautiful.


Artist Statement:
My work portrays metaphoric ideas through humor, radicality, symbolism, and irony. The angst and anxieties of everyday life affect me: conditions, situations, and glimpses, that are odd, uncommon, and unusual catch my attention. I try to integrate these in my work through a merging of Expressionism with Realism, in an illustrative format.
