At school I took GCSE & A’Level Art, obtaining A grades for both. I studied mainly landscapes and towns scapes for my personal study but always had an interest in illustration and studied children’s illustrators too. After leaving school I chose to take the physical education route which was also a love of mine. After teaching PE in Secondary for 14 years and having 2 children of my own, I moved into primary teaching. I have often returned to my art as a way of relaxing and staying sane!

However, due to lockdown I had more time to actually spend on my art and have taken on a whole different style. The influences of being “locked in” brought out my inner wild side and urge to break out. So I channeled my love of wild animals. My love of Banksy encouraged the graffiti angle in my art as I learnt to use spray paint and embrace its effects. I also have a keen interest in the style of the artist Patrice Murciano. I decided to try to recreate one of his pieces and that’s where it began. The piece still hangs in my house today.
