Artist Statement

As the street becomes the theatre of a purely cinematic reality, the photographer wanders in a never-ending story, a witness to our age, expressing its vision and thought. I approach my subjects with an awareness of their unlimited possibilities. The street, the world, is alive with secret aesthetic temptations that glitter before the lens and beg to be revealed. These possibilities demand a poetic approach to subject and place, which are then inseparable from my mood. The dreamlike sense of contemplation and wandering is strongly present both in the choice of scenes and their stylized composition. I devote all that freedom to the narrative aspects of decisive moments.

The use of alternating atmospheres"”now austere, now romantic or lush"”also points to a sustained but subtle expressive impulse that informs the construction of my photographic images. The viewer's imagination is constantly engaged because I am always striving to include it in the vision. I try to show the viewer scenes or elements that might initially have gone unnoticed, like a solitary filmmaker waiting to capture an inimitable feeling.
