Art Eric French

ERIC HAYDEN FRENCH CIRCUNS 2021 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grantee/ b. 1969 Peru, Indiana. Eric French earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 from the School of Fine Arts and Design in San Juan, Puerto Rico and his Master’s Degree in 1996 from the Savannah College of Arts and Design in Savannah Georgia. French found in formal higher education the disciplined approach to base his artworks in the research on a particular subject. He studies composition and how the art fundamentals affect its content while altering the visual outcome. French’s paintings and drawings depict the deep love and understanding of color theory that the artist developed as a young student. From the expressive gestures in his abstractions to an even more precise approach in his geometry, his confident, strong strokes and use of color serve as a conductive thread within his open style approach to making art. Recent exhibitions include Expanding Universe at the Ángel Ramos Foundation’s SalaFar in San Juan Puerto Rico, Ten Billion Light Years in Diameter in the RJ Reynolds Gallery at the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico and Pieces of Heaven an Art of Elysium & Christies Charitable Art Auction & Exhibition, at the Ace Museum in Los Angeles, California.
