My painting is myself; therefore, talking about it is talking about my life.
I believe that any self-depiction must begin with the fairy of childhood and should end the same. What we become with years, I don’t believe it may change anything in the background of our personality, what we see changing in us, as I see it, the same fairytale trying to adapt to the unknown eternity. Ergo, I shall tell you a scene from my childhood.
I was unable to talk until the age of 5, any attempt to say something to my parents or friends, ended up by drawing. I remember having fallen in love, by the same age, with a kindergarten mate, Gherasima, a chromatic and shape fairy, as I have never seen before. Her hair was red and curly; her complexion, blindly white and light, enriched by millions of freckles. It was for the first time I felt like talking. Though, I said nothing. I gave her a marker drawing.
As I am writing these lines, Gherasima is here, smiling,
the drawing is not..
