Collins Gandor was born in Sogakofe, a town in the Volta region, Ghana. He was raised in Ivory Coast and came back to Ghana when he was 18 years old. Gandor has always been an Art enthusiast since he was born.
Gandor’s artistic journey has evolved through various phases, each deeply rooted in an
exploration of form, memory, and human experience. Initially, his practice delved into the
intersection of painting and sculpture, drawing inspiration from the rich, tactile traditions of
African art which later led him to the next phase where he reflected on the human body, not
merely as a physical form but as a vessel for accumulated memories, a living archive shaped by
time and experience.
He later became intrigued by the evolving relationship between humans and machines, focusing
on how technology reshapes our understanding of identity, labor, and interaction. This
intersection of organic and mechanical worlds invited a deeper inquiry into the boundaries of the
human condition.
Currently, his works draws on both personal and global socio-political issues, reflecting the

Collins Gandor studied Visual Arts at Datus Senior High School in Tema. He advanced to read Commercial Art at the Takoradi Technical University where he Graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Painting. He later moved to Kumasi where he graduated with a degree in Painting and Sculpture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi,Ghana.
