Garry Grant

Garry Grant is a New York City-based artist known for his expansive, large-scale abstract works on multiple canvases and wood panels. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Grant's formal training at the College for Creative Studies and Wayne State University laid the foundation for a career that bridges fine art and master gilding, with early work restoring antique frames for esteemed framing companies. His extensive practice over two decades seamlessly blends these disciplines, employing techniques and materials from gilding and restoration to create profound depth and texture in his art.
Grant’s fascination with ancient history deeply informs his work, drawing inspiration from the splendor and mystery of past civilizations. His pieces establish a dynamic dialogue between the contemporary and the historical, inviting viewers to contemplate humanity’s enduring legacy.
