Gunasiri Kolambage

I am an artist. Living in Sri Lanka. I work with Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor and Mixed Media.Most of my paintings are abstracts.I have also exhibited my work in Japan, Bulgaria, India, Bangladesh, Australia, Spain and Paris aside from commissioned work in various countries.

Vibrant hues in contrasting combinations are typical of my work and many of my paintings are imbued with messages, at times stirring and poignant in their meaning.

I have been painting and exhibiting my work more than 55 years.

1961 1st Solo Exhibition at the Studio Times- Fort, Colombo.
1966 Solo Exhibition of Paintings on the theme: "Some Poems I Have Read" Held in Colombo.1978 Participated in an Exhibition of Paintings by Asian Artists by Invitation in Zagrebev, Bulgaria.

(Three of the Paintings were bought by the Bulgarian Government to add to their art

collection.)1978 Participated in the Indian Triennale Exhibition, held in New Delhi.

1979 Participated in the Asian Artists’ Exhibition, held in Fukoka, Japan.

1981 Participated in the Asian Artists’ Exhibition, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh and led the

Sri Lankan Delegation to the Conference2009 - Finalist Award from the ‘International Artist Magazine’ Australia.
