I Design and I make Art. The relationship between these two disciplines, the tension between expression and utilitarian usage in Art & Design, I find exciting.

When I'm designing it is to aid communication. When I create Art it is to express ideas that I cannot with the written word. This is not because I am a poor writer, rather it is because I feel that language lets me (us) down on so many levels.

My Artworks are visual representations of moments, memories and thoughts (some real, some fictitious) that need more attention than the normal 'passing of time' gives. Born and raised in Belfast I decided early in my education to head in the direction of the arts. I graduated from the University of Ulster with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication in 1996. Since then I have worked as a Graphic Designer, an art teacher and a lecturer. Over the years, freelance Graphic Design has pushed my work into the arena of image making, especially on the web. To complement this interest I completed an MA in Computer Arts in London and have just developed a new body of worked based around the digital canvas. I exhibit this work nationally and more recently, internationally.,
