Lars Hejll

I was born in Helsingborg. Final settlement is Akarp, a small village between Malmo and Lund in southern Sweden
Started out working with the silkscreen technique and originals for posters. Originals are my own paintings or drawings, also photographs and photomontage.Posters for theater, music, festivals and solidarity, even posters that was pasted at city walls at night, "the graffity" of the 60's and 70's. I also made posters and prints for sale, and silkscreened grafic art in limited editions for gallery exhibitions and similar. Cooperation with other artistic people and an active part of the cultural movement that united expressions and expiriences - a social and cultural movement that was active during the 70's and 80's and involved professional journalists, actors, musicians and others, but very few visual artists.

I don't have an education at any artschool or similar. I was interested in pictures and ways to make them useful. "Fine" art came second hand. During the 80's and 90's I worked part time as a teacher of silkscreen and photographic techniques at a school of graphic art (Forum, Mamoe). I've shown my art at galleries and museums in Sweden and abroad. As photographer I also made exhibitions and books, one of them about the american indians, released in 1978. Thru the years I've recived several scholarships both as graphic artist and photographer.,
