My name is Helene Terlien, I was born in 1960, Breda, The Netherlands,living and working in Amsterdam.

Painting has become an all consuming passion to me, especially when working with oilpaints.

People and Animals are a source of inspiration from wich a fantasy, when taking shape on the canvas, starts leading its own live.

And I , as an artist, am left to follow in its path.

People,animals and objects function, alone or togheter to tell a story with room for different viewing points.

Take the name I give a painting just as a suggestion.

I leave it up to the viewer to give his or her own interpretation with the symbolism and magical reality I depict.
Thus leaving the possibilty open to use
your own imagenation and maybe even enjoy a moment of recognision.
