Helen Gerro

Helen Gerro is a figurative impressionist painter known worldwide for her bold, colorful, vivid colorful, whimsical, signature paintings of women. My art is inspired from being a high fashion women's wear designer since the nineteen eighties. My designer sketches jumped off the sketch pad onto canvas, and my paintings jumped off the canvas onto my dresses...I've shown my painted Art Couture dresses all over, up and down the Gulf Coast in New York, Los Angeles, to Minneapolis. Featured in several magazines editorials and news paper spreads.

I was always creative since an early age of 9, I'd say I'm a self taught artist, I paint what I want to see not what I see. I've been painting for over 20 years now I have developed a signature look of my own. Inspired from being a women's wear designer, a gallery owner said I should paint on canvas and therefore I did, my designer sketches turned into paintings. I have a huge collection of over 200 paintings I began with painting on paper and then onto canvas.
