Holly Lamkay

I am a 26 year old painter from upstate NY. I mainly deal with women's issues through an autobiographical approach. I find that working through issues in my own life through art helps me to identify with my emotions; hopefully my art serves the same purpose for others. Because I am so insecure about my body, a large portion of my work involves the nude female body. I aim to create a sense of depth, conceptually and visually. The human body inspires me; I am able to express the hidden desire for self-destructive behavior and how an individual can consciously change that path.
