Ivan Korzhev

I was born in Moscow in 1973 to a family of artistic background: architects, painters, artists.

Sculpture has been my passion for a long time now, I have created over 100 works, including a series of monumental images of famous historical people.

In my art I try to analyze the category of beautiful, using deep philosophical interpretation of reality and a critical attitude towards myself and my art works. I believe that hard work and experiments with genres, stylistics, plastic arts, shape and material, are the skills of an artist. Despite the diversity of the techniques I apply, I try to make my art works full of adherence to classical art values. As for my main trend, I think it can be described as conceptual realism.

In 1991 graduated from Moscow Art school, and in 1996 from the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute (department of sculpture).
