1970 - UK My work revolves around colour and playing with shapes, contrast and overall imagery. I take inspiration from many random objects and subjects:- animals, car-journeys, nature, cities, graffiti, scribbling etc. I collect anything that might be a source of interest or hold it somewhere in my memory.I use acrylics, oil, occasional spray-paint and a lot of pen. I love drawing and have a certain obsession with detail, I seem to sometimes spend as much time rubbing colours away as i do applying and thinking about them.When i feel a painting is at a dead-end i will turn the canvas on its head, hopefully to get a fresh perspective and viewpoint, this allows me to see new shapes to play with.At the moment i love working with figurative imagery with an illustrative ethereal feel
