I was born and raised surrounded by hills in the middle of the Czech Republic where I have been living in an old family farm until now. There I have turned an old barn into my studio.
By the way my surname means “freedom” in Czech and yes- I feel fortunate to have the freedom of expressing myself through paintings.
Speaking of my art- it actually is more layering coats of paints than painting itself. I usually apply several layers on canvas that I wash off, scratch off or completely remove if needed. This creates the signature structure and patina that I like and that is typical for my pictures.
The most common theme of my art is discovering what is behind the ‘curtain’ of our daily reality. That is how I suggest that you should experience my paintings. Take your time to discover what lies there beneath the first layer. For those who will invest the time there are depths and new horizons to be revealed.
