I have been an artist all of my life. Its something that lives within oneself and if you are lucky and focused, it will blossom into a career that blesses your life. Thats how I feel about my life. I was immersed for many years in the fashion industry and designed and manufactured the fabric prints, designed swimwear and beach attire. I learned so much about color and design as my line was distributed to over 1,000. stores. It was a wonderful experience.
At the same time my childhood passion called to my heart and soul. There is such beauty in the connection between us humans and horses.
I now paint these exquisite creatures because my curiosity and sense of intrigue is always present. When I paint them I feel their movement and mystery, beauty and power and wish to capture this onto paper or canvas in my art through line, gesture and color. I want the viewer to fell what I felt as I painted them.
Their intelligence expression, graceful, yet powerful motion, their beautiful composition. I have a sense inside my soul that this is a vital and important part of my life purpose. I am Self taught with 2 years of college courses in life drawing, color theory and painting.I enjoy expressing in impressionistic realism to abstract impressionism.
I have read many books on painting and color theory. I love going to art museums and art expositions as often as possible locally as well as internationally. There are so many great artists that move my heart and expand my artistic awareness. There is no better education and teacher than the process of painting. I have been painting full time for 11 years and in that time have sold over 150 original paintings and over 400 fine art, limited series, giclee prints.
