I was born in a village called Groesbeek, south of Nijmegen in The Netherlands. And live currently with my wife Alice in Banbury, Oxfordshire. United
Kingdom. Looking back, I always wanted to paint. Until some years ago my son gave me a full set of brushes and paints as a birthday present. A few years have gone now. And I enjoy painting very much. Should have started earlier indeed. Every painting is a challenge. Learning all the time

As for painting, I am selftaught and learn every day. I started off with watercolour and gradually found my way to acrylics. I prefer to use bright colours. I paint subjects to which I feel connected to , such as Dutch and South African sceneries, And topics related to high temperatures such as kilns, furnaces. Which influence I got from my "working life."
