Javier De La Rosa

Javier de la Rosa was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1984. Since he was young, he felt attracted to drawing and sculpting and along his life, Javier always has felt fascinated for the different cultures around the world and their stories and mythos.

He cultivated his interest during his time before the university, developing in depth during his degree in Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid. Before he finished his career, Javier started to work with a sculptor of great professional trajectory like Jesus Curia, learning and developing for more that 11 years.

After finishing his degree in 2008, he was awarded with diverse grants and prizes. Thanks to that recognitions, he could develop of different projects in some important art foundations in Spanish like Rodriguez Acosta Foundation in Granada and Antonio Gala Foundation in Cordoba.

The essence of Javier’s work is the union with the feeling of life. In his work he explores the character of nature, both human and animal and how it progresses over time. He investigates ideas that link tradition and technology, the concept of globalization appears subtly.
