I love the spirit that moves within us, and the beauty that is around us, and this is what I explore, in my art. I love beautiful drawing, and line, as the framework, or as an end in itself, and I love rainbow colours that are a shade less bright, and beautiful together in combination.

Jelila trained at the Art Students League of New York (Instagram: @aslnyc) and Sir John Cass School of Art, London.

She won a place to do a degree in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, but chose a different direction, which took her to aslnyc and the Experimental Painting class, under Frank O’Cain.
