Jenna Myllykoski

Jenna Myllykoski is a mixed media & sand artist from Finland. Her paintings often evoke feelings of natural landscapes, foreign planets or geological formations, emphasizing the complexity of natural elements. Jenna's aim is to capture the raw essence and the captivating, sometimes chaotic beauty of nature and space.

There are no rules when it comes to Jenna's painting techniques - she loves to experiment and discover new surface textures and marks. She is endlessly curious about new ways of expressing herself on canvas. She loves surrendering to her intuition and letting the materials and movement take her on an almost meditative journey, where each layer guides her to the next one until all the pieces come together in the end. This process of transformation is something that Jenna finds endlessly inspiring - it is food for her curiosity.

Jenna is a dreamer by nature. In the crazy and hectic world of today, painting is her way to simultaneously lose herself in a far away dreamland, and to focus on the moment. A way to escape - or to return to whom she always was.

Jenna discovered acrylics in the beginning of 2020 as she started to feel a strong urge to portray her thoughts and feelings in a creative way. She had always exercised her creativity in one way or another, but it had never been "the right moment" to start painting. With her day job going into remote working mode in 2020, she suddenly had more free time since she didn't have to commute to work. Painting quickly became a daily thing for her and she hasn't been able to stop creating since. Nowadays Jenna has her own art business through which she operates.

Jenna adores the freedom it gives her to paint abstracts - it is a freedom like no other.
