Jennifer Thomson is a Scottish artist from Edinburgh. She is well known for her unique colourful scenes populated by her unmistakable quirky characters. Her aim as an artist is to capture those special heartfelt moments in life, expressing the love, connection and joy that can be felt at those times. The ideas for her paintings often come when she is out walking with her fox terrier Brodie, who often appears in her work.
“I have always been inspired by the work of The Naïve Artists. I think it has a magical childlike quality. Untethered by any rules or judgement, I love their use of bold composition, bright colours and their simple but powerfully uplifting message. I agree with the words of the artist Marc Chagall who said -
‘Art must be an expression of love or it is nothing’. ”
