Jo Lloyd

It is difficult to pigeon hole many artists but Jo Lloyd-Stewart especially is truly an artist that cannot be confined by a box. This is reflected in her multi faceted, multi art form career as a fine artist.
After studying Art and Design, Jo slipped into the medical world in the process of examining life as a nurse, an art therapist and an artist. It is her role as a mother though that has had the most profound effect on her and a theme that rears its head time after time in her work. Her themes are not always obvious and her work sells to many on the merit of beauty alone, but to some collectors it is the underlying issues that are not obvious that make her work even more appealing.
Her work as an artist has taken her to Europe & America as well as countless exhibitions on her home turf England. This reflects Jo's ability to keep her work current and always moving it forward.
Some would say that Jo's work is therapy for her, if this is the case then it is bold move to branching out into new media, pushing the boundaries and manipulating her two dimensional work into three dimensional installation and sculptures. Her main focus for 2011/12 is people and the shift of time.
