Juan Diego Roldán was born in Sevilla, Spain, in January 1948.
His education is autodidact. With the age of 15, Juan Diego meets the Spanish painter Eduardo Úrculo, at the time an already well established figure in the Spanish art scene and later leader of the Spanish pop art movement, who decides to become Juan Diego's protégé.
Roldán organises his first expositions on the psychodelical theme, but his nonconformist spirit maintains him outside the artists' circle.
He describes his style as "far from any -isms".
