I want to seize that magic moment in which a blow of brush acquires a significance, a sentence becomes poetry and a noise is transformed into music. To catch this fragile threshold in which an object, without apparent meaning, can be transformed into an energy able to awake an emotion has became my basic research.
In most of my paintings the image is suggested or in a rough state. This figurative insinuation imposes a double challenge because not only I must try to seize this magic moment, but also, the observer must take part of the experience to close the circle. He must let himself go, feel the flow of energy that contains the painting and imagine the invisible lines which give to the image its force and power. Thus, the observer will be the one that will give a true meaning to the painting;

I was born in Mexico City and in the Eighties I made my studies in mathematics and I also began my artistic research. Given the absolute world of mathematics in which I submerged myself, I learned how to appreciate irreducible and eternal forms. Thus, I understood that I could give a direction to reality with a more explicit language, other that mathematics. This way I evolved into poetry and for years I borrowed images from the words and metaphors from verses. This exercise helped me to polish my reading of reality.
