Kaia Kiik

KAIA KIIK's reliefs on canvas or paper ressemble to natural landscapes seen from the sky. When someone observes from afar - they give the feeling of peace, serenity, some are monochrome, others more expressif. But then viewer gets closer, she/he'll see the whole complexity of materials, textures, colors, hundreds of unexpected nuances on this apparently simple surface. This is that KAIA KIIK calls the beauty of complexity, so common to the nature.
In her artistic work she focuses on the behavior of the matter in a time-space sensitive setting while all matter can be source of inspiration for KAIA KIIK. Using different natural forces while manipulating the matter, KAIA KIIK's reliefs are result of interaction between several organic and mineral materials matured under the rain, snow or other environnemental changes.
