Kan Lin

My passion for painting came from my mom, she had worked for a painting academy. She worked as a Chinese painting framer at the time. Because of her access to the academy, I was able to see exquisite artwork, and developed an interest in painting, especially traditional fine brush painting.

I devoted more than 10 years to study unsystematic learning and the other half of my time being self taught.

There was a long break from me picking up the paint brush, I hadn’t painted in almost 20 years. But as I was cleaning up around the house in the summer of 2021, I found a set of colour pencils (pack of 24). That sparked my attention to pick up learning again! I had purchased these coloured pencils for my daughter when she was in elementary school, and somehow after 10 years they still looked brand new.

Art, and making art brings me a lot of joy and pleasure that I never expected, I am becoming more and more passionate about the knowledge of art and my art skills.
