Contemporary Australian artist Kate Baker has been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally including at the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, the SOFA Art Fair in Chicago, the Alexander Tutsek Foundation in Munich, Germany, the International Exhibition of Glass in Kanazawa, Japan and the Glass Biennale in Venice, Italy. Both a finalist and winner of national and international art prizes, scholarships and grants, her artworks are featured in collections globally.
Educated at the Canberra School of Art in Glass and Printmaking. Graduating with first class honours in 1999.
During her undergraduate studies Kate also studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and undertook independent research throughout Europe on a Thomas Foundation Travelling Research Scholarship.
She is currently preparing to return to art school to undertake a practice-based PhD in interdisciplinary research focusing on studio glass and photo media practice.
