Kathrin Ess lives, writes, paints and sings in Berlin. She is fascinated by the magic and absurdity of this world, but also its inherent pain. Her pictures and texts are shaped by this contrast, hover between colorful and dreamy, melancholic and disturbing, combine observations of human interaction with relentless self-reflection. She is currently working on a novel, new music and more paintings.
