Art is emotion. Great art will make you stop, force you to linger and to embrace the feeling it resonates in you.


With my paintings I strive to create in the viewer a feeling of happiness, calmness and tranquility. A moment when time stops and you are just in the now. Enjoy the moment, forget all your troubles...just be.

Self-taught.
All paintings are made with fine acrylic paints. I either work on canvas or painting cardboard as paper is too fragile for my technique. I always work alla prima, that means I work the colors into each other as long as they are all wet. All the paintings are done in one sitting - as soon as they are dry there are no corrections anymore. Either the painting works out or not. I have a kind of Japanese working style in the way that I seek to create a perfect painting in one flow without any tempering after it dried for the first time. It is in the sense of Japanese calligraphy that the whole has to be perfect.

At the beginning of 2016 (at age 37) I started to suffer from severe chronic pain. I had migraine attacks almost constantly and the pain drove me nearly crazy. At that point I discovered that creating art actually reduces the pain.
Every moment without pain lets me see the beauty around me more clearly. I want to capture this beauty in my art and share it with others, to make them see it, too.
My greatest gift is to see someone looking at my paintings and see them smiling. See the look of happiness and love in their faces. Then I know, that my wish, to share a bit of happiness with my art, came true.
