Kelly-Anne Cairns

I am a fine art painter, a graduate of Grays School of Art, Scotland. My work often depicts figures in interior environments absorbed in their own thoughts. Selecting colours and pose I aim to create a feeling of calm and tranquility with a focus on recreating delicate skin tones in oils.

Other artwork inspiration comes from the quirky and everyday inanimate objects I own, creating ‘portraits’ of the objects and still life compositions that capture a fun, joyful element.

My paintings have been selected for the prestigious BP Portrait Award and The Scottish Portrait Award exhibitions. In March 2020 I was a contestant on the popular Sky Portrait Artist of the Year, I painted actress Lydia Leonard and was selected as the winner of the sitters choice.

I have exhibited across Scotland- in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, in London, New York and Amsterdam. I have been exhibiting in joint, mixed and solo exhibitions since I graduated in 1999. My work is held in National collections in the UK and in private collections worldwide.
