Michael Z. Kevgas was born in Kallithea, Attiki to parents who were refugees of Asia Minor descent.
He attended the Department of Design at the Diplareios School in Athens, and later studied Interior Design at the Athens Technological Institute (Doxiadis School) from 1969 to 1971.
His works have been published in daily papers as well as various literary magazines (Odos Panos, Mandragoras, Filologiki), in school textbooks (Antigoni – Filoktitis, 2nd Grade of Lyceum and Chemistry, 3rd Grade of Gymnasium) and in the “Melissa” Dictionary of Greek Artists. Many of his works can be found in public and private collections in Greece as well as abroad. His works on public display include a bust of Balkan Medalist Thanasis Ragazos (brass, 1991) at the Stadium of Almyros, in Volos, Greece, an embossed profile of sports sponsor Vasilis Manolopoulos (brass, 1992) at the Themistokleio Gymnasium of Piraeus, and a head sculpture (brass, 2011) at the Municipal Theater of Kallithea, in Athens.
