Katharine Dickinson

Katharine was born in England 1960. She studied at The West Surrey College of Art and Design and the renowned Slade School of Art, UCL, London. She has exhibited her art in Canada, U.S.A. and the UK including the National Portrait Gallery, London. She now lives in Canada. Katharine is currently working on private portrait commissions and a series of digital sports paintings and prints.



Katharine Dickinson is a traditional and digital portrait artist. She has exhibited at National Portrait Gallery London and various galleries in England, Canada and United States. She has illustrated many book covers, including Kurt Vonnegut, Brian Moore and Margaret Atwood. Interested in exploration of identity through art, in particular portrait painting beyond the conventions of physical likeness. Using digital media Katharine can interweave painted and photographic imagery to create a new and innovative way of visualizing ideas of identity. She is interested in reflecting culture, nature and surrounding aspects of life into a portrait
