Art has always been a part of me. During my childhood I was attracted to dancing and singing, and in my teens I discovered the beauty of the movements of dancers and actors in dramatic performances that I attended. Later, as a teacher, I was able to develop my creativity in painting and decorating. The great Mexican painters and muralists such as Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siqueiros have had a great influence on my artistic development, because for years I have made colorful wall paintings in the rooms of the kindergarten where I worked, as well as stages decorated for theater and dance performances. I also made marionettes for the various children's performances.
Of course, the colors and the passion of Mexico, a country full of contrasts that I experienced every day, became important and defining factors in my art. The modeling of the human figure - mainly the adult female figure - took hold after I arrived in Germany in 1981, when I started making sculptures in paper mache, wax, modeling clay, plaster of paris, cement, etc.
I did my studies in Mexico City, where I am from and the practice I have acquired during the many years that I have experience.
my stage name is "cota"
My most important exhibitions have been in Dubai, Panama, Gran Canaria and some here in my chosen city, which is Cologne in Germany.
