Lia Mageira

Lia Mageira was born and raised in Greece. She currently lives in both Athens and Copenhagen, Denmark. Her art is deeply influenced by Classical Antiquity and Nature. The colours of the Mediterranean Sea are a recurring theme in her work, and she draws inspiration from the Neo-Impressionists, particularly Paul Signac.

Lia is a photographer and painter who likes to experiment with watercolour and pastel techniques. She received training in drawing and composition from the painter Vrasidas Vlachopoulos for three years. She also learned aquarelle techniques and acrylic painting from the painter Ioanna Oikonomidou. She attended a one-year seminar on photography, glass painting, and collage at the German College of Fine Arts and Design in Athens. After pursuing a career as a physical therapist for 25 years, she returned to her passion for art.

Lia has been awarded two solo exhibitions in Athens and has participated in five group exhibitions in Greece and Italy.
