Liz Alzona is an award-winning, published artist and gifted storyteller. Inspired by extraordinary individuals and their stories of struggle and triumph, Liz creates bold and vibrant mixed media collages, as well as striking black-and-white analog collages, to ignite inspiration and foster connection. Her work seeks to inspire and connect people through shared experiences, such as time, memory, and human resilience.
Raised in Chicago by artist parents, Liz's passion for art began at a young age. She studied art alongside biology (B.S.), and neurophysiology (M.S.) at Loyola University Chicago, seamlessly integrating science, art, and narrative in her work. Currently based in Atlanta, Liz's work is featured in both private and public collections, including the James Clerk Maxwell foundation in Edinburgh, Scotland.
She was awarded the Rosemary Cox Award for Art from Georgia State University, featured in the Creative License magazine and has been mentioned on various digital platforms. Liz Alzona’s creative journey is shaped by a unique blend of science and art. While earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Neurophysiology at Loyola University Chicago, she also immersed herself in art classes, exploring the intersection of creativity and scientific inquiry. This fusion of disciplines fuels her fascination with perception, memory, and time—concepts that now play a central role in her artwork.
Always eager to expand her artistic practice, Liz has explored mono printing, mixed media watercolor, and the Art2Life Creative Visionary Program. In 2024, she deepened her connection to analog collage through an immersive workshop at The Hambidge Center, further refining her approach to layered storytelling and mixed media expression.
Liz exhibits regularly which showcases the depth and diversity of her artistic practice, spanning vibrant mixed media works and striking black-and-white analog collages.
Her work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions, highlighting her ability to connect with audiences through themes of time, memory, and human resilience. From local galleries to large-scale public art installations, Liz is passionate about sharing her vision with the community and beyond.
Her pieces are held in both domestic and international collections, including the prestigious James Clerk Maxwell Foundation in Scotland, reflecting the wide-reaching impact of her art.
