Louise Van Reeth

The practice of Louise Van Reeth is grounded in an exploration of the expressive and emotional power of material and color. Whether in painting or in the rest of her works, she attempts to reveal the visual richness of the color/material alliance and its capacity to resonate with our inner energies and vibrations.
Her works celebrate the materiality of art as an open door to an 'elsewhere' that belongs to the realm of sensation and a certain quest for freedom, liberated from the immediacy of life to reach deeper levels of emotional and spiritual awareness. Through subtle references to landscape, traces, and textures, her paintings invite us to immerse ourselves in them, experiencing a form of serenity and self-forgetfulness that is characteristic of an immersive experience devoid of intellectualization.
