Lynn Stein

I use pop culture references focusing on celebrity, fashion, and cinema in combination with my private emotional life that changes from day to day. Using images that I find in the halls of the internet and transform through my imagination (as well as photographs that I take myself), I switch back and forth between oils and water-based paints to keep the flows of the painting as fresh as possible. Having grown up as the daughter of a staff LIFE photographer, my connection to photographs is particularly profound.

I grew up thinking in pictures.
