Margarida De Araújo

I was born in Mozambique, raised in Portugal and I have travel and live in Austria, Italy and England.
Now, I work in my studio at Serpa, as an artist, a small town in the beautiful region of Alentejo, in Portugal, here I get inspire to my artwork.
The artists that touch my heart and inspire my work the surrealistic, the cubism and modernism, impressionism artist like Dali, Picasso, Matisse and Van Gogh, but I also admire contemporary artists as Bastian, Dana Schtuz and Jeff Koons ...
I create figurative images with a strong line and a soft spot, where the form, try to, express the all idea of object of my creation.
I do sculpture, most in ceramic, but also in several others materials, such as bronze and resin, iron or concrete. And I do painting and drawings using acrylics or watercolors.

I took a course of Arts and Multimedia, in the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, to improve artistic Knowledge, and several professional courses at the creative ceramic field.
