Maria Empis Meira

I am a visual artist and Portuguese architect. My artistic practice arises from the intersection of structure, color, and emotion, deeply influenced by my training in Architecture and my master's degree in Conservation and Restoration. Throughout my journey, I have lived and studied in cities such as Lisbon, London, Milan, and Granada, which have enriched my perspective and creativity.

Since 2001, I have worked simultaneously in architecture, drawing, and painting. In 2022, I opened my own studio, where I teach painting to children and adults, creating a space for exchange between creation, learning, and inspiration.

My work reflects a search for a dialogue between the geometric and the emotional, between physical space and personal experience, always paying attention to what color and form can convey.

Master in Conservation and Restoration of buildings.
Degree in Architecture.
1996/97 - Frequency in the drawing course of Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes.
1994/95- Frequency in the drawing course of ARCO.
