Marie-Josée Lavoie

I am a professional actress - dancer and director working in the artistic world for several years. My career led me first to gravitate on stages as a professional dancer, then, as an acrobat actress-singer-dancer, and director. With a bachelor's degree in television from UQAM, my work often led me to relate the artist's work to, image. However, I never had the opportunity to realize my passion for image in painting, except during this total downtime for everyone, and above all, the artists. Pandemic obliges! So here is a series that I would like to offer you: '' ''DURING the PANDEMIC : views from here, views from elsewhere'', that I was able to create during this obligatory downtime, which was a wonderful opportunity to look at our nature, both human and urban. So I was able to create on various acrylic canvases, a series of around fifty works, like a look at the outside that we could contemplate, or imagine. The sun as well as the light, or the absence of it, are at the heart of my artistic process. Indeed, the circle holds a preponderant place there. I am therefore pleased to present the series “During the pandemic, seen from here, seen from elsewhere” in which some of these themes are related: '' In memory of the Islands '', '' ...
