Marijke Koster

Growing up in a country where Van Gogh lived and painted made me eager to achieve the same skills. As an artist you are never done learning and improving.

On my saatchi page you see different styles of paintings through the years. And even though they might give a somewhat messy image of me, I think that they are a necessary part of growing up as an artist.

Being an artist for me is not repeating the same trick again and again, but continuing the search.

I believe that being an artist you never stop learning and you never stop discovering new ways of interpreting things. My fascination lies within the daily light that touches us all. It never seizes to amaze me how a single thing can look different every day. Capturing these moments is what I do. I am an observer.

Marijke Koster, (born 1988) finished studying at Artschool Minerva in Groningen in 2010.

Her specialisations are: painting (oil, acrylic and gouache), drawing, several printing techniques, typography, ceramics, media and graphic design.

Exhibited in the Netherlands, Germany and England.
