Markos Papoutsakis is a multidisciplinary artist based in Athens, with painting at the heart of his creative practice. His oeuvre moves fluidly between figuration, abstraction, and landscape, often drawing on historical references to create layered visual narratives.
In his surrealist Lapsus series, he delves into the ironic tension between humanity and its untamed, instinctual side. These works explore the fragmented relationship between reason and impulse with a darkly poetic sensibility.
His landscapes and abstract compositions take on a more experimental approach, serving as a unifying ground where material exploration, emotional atmosphere, and conceptual thought converge. Across all his work, he seeks to expose what lies beneath the surface—of history, memory, and human nature.
He has studied Painting at Athens School of Fine Arts.
His has also attended workshops of Design Set, New Media, and IT.
