I am a self taught painter. I spent ten years working in the business and finance world, and I am now pursing my lifelong passion for painting. I employ the old techniques of trompe l'oeil (French for "trick of the eye") with new, fun and interesting (and hopefully thought-provoking) twists. Using animals and objects from the world around me, I aim to generate conversation touching on social constructs and class, drawing largely from my experience and critiques of the finance and business world. I work primarily in oil paints. I am also a portrait painter and enjoy replicating famous lost artwork, like the pieces from the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum heist. For fun, I enjoy spending time with my children, practicing archery, birdwatching and woodworking.
