Marla E

Creating is a huge part of my life. Painting excites me. I am constantly discovering through my art.
I want to connect with the viewer using my bold color and inviting texture, leading the viewer into
full immersion from a glimpse of my world. My paintings explode with texture, color and space,
infusing geometry with organic freedom. My medium is a combination of plaster and acrylic paint.
I have pushed simple drywall plaster farther than the average builder. I sculpt a surface texture, then
layer paint onto the plaster. This process re-activates the plaster and re-invents my surface while I
paint. I call this Urban Plaster.

Marla Es unique sculptural paintings are on display in shows, galleries and private collections around the world. She studied fine art at Rollins college in Winter Park, Florida, and graduated from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. Her work has been featured in major Florida venues including Mt. Dora Center for the Arts, Atlantic Center for the Arts,Osceola Center for the Arts and Florida Artist of the Monthat The Orlando Museum of Art. Marla’s paintings have appeared in national television advertising campaigns. NOW magazine featured Marla E on the cover of the premiere issue. Marla E has been published in American Art Collector.Marla Es Groove Series was purchased as part of a permanent public installation for the new CNL Center II building.
