Martha Sanchez-Hayre

My inspiration comes mainly from nature, and I aim for a positive aesthetic experience in all my artwork.
I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, and I moved to the United States over 20 years ago. My artistic path started in Colombia, where I studied Textiles Design. My professional life developed in the administration field, but I am now full-time devoted to my passion for art. I love painting with acrylics, drawing with graphite and charcoal, and making tapestries with a variety of materials.

I studied 2.5 years of Textiles Design at Los Andes University in Colombia. I started painting as a hobby 10 years ago, by following artists like Bob Rose and Jerry Yarnell, among others. I have recently finished a Fine Arts Professional Certification program at Sessions College in the United States.
