Matthew Carter

Represented by Föenander Galleries in Auckland, New Zealand. Carter teaches classes at the Browne School of Art, Auckland. He won the Gordon Harris award at the Walker and Hall Waiheke art awards in 2023, the Glaister Ennor award in 2009 and has been a finalist in numerous awards including the Adam Portraiture Awards, the COCA Anthony Harper Awards 2010, the Wallace Arts Trust Awards 2010, 2011 and 2015 and the National Contemporary Art Award 2011.

His work explores the spatio-psychology of city spaces.
