Maria Camila Clavijo

I’m a Colombian artist, I start making charcoal and pastel drawings taking as model pictures taken by myself. Those pictures are human figure’s sculptures of the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. They are full body pictures and later I start with the realization of small fragments of human body parts.

I show the human body in its own nakedness, it is when the human being is completely exposed, uncovered, and it reflects the life and fragility. At the same time, I want to show the strength that the human being is able to have thanks to their experiences. That is, a human being naked, unprotected, but covered with an armor of muscles in his upper body that he hasn’t acquired without effort and which are the result of their struggles.
